You’re not on track…

Everyone seems to have a “timeline” for their life.

Graduate college, find a job, find the right relationship, get engaged, get married, have kids…

OR

Trade-school, make bank, invest, buy property…

OR

Girl-boss, get that bag, travel…

I hope you understand what I am getting at. Not one person that I know is following the exact same timeline. Everyone sounds like they are enjoying different parts of their lives at different times and it’s exciting for them!

We love to see everyone living their own lives to different degrees. But sometimes, these little stressful thoughts creep into our minds.

“I feel like I should be doing this and not that…”

“I need to own XYZ because they just bought their first XYZ, but I’m not financially ready…”

“I’m not emotionally/financially/mentally/physically ready for…”

Even though people are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing (or not doing), they get stressed out thinking that they are not “on track.” Let me tell you they are definitely not on the same track as you, and you are on a totally different track than others. Regardless, it has nothing to do with being “on track;” rather, it’s about just being where you are now.

Reflect on where you are standing, and what you’re doing now, and be where your feet are. Reflect on what your past-self had planned and hoped for your present-self. If you’re not content or satisfied with where you are now, that’s okay. Not everyone is going to be where they thought they would be. Congratulations if you did make it to what you planned and hoped for in the past; you should be proud of how much progress you have accomplished so far. Practice gratitude and contentment for yourself.

Despite everything, keep reflecting on what you want to do in your life. If you are on track, keep going. If you’re not, keep reflecting on how you can change where you are and want to be instead. You can think about the progress that you have made but do not dwell on it or let those stressful thoughts minimize all that is good for you.

You are not on a track. You are doing life. And life is about simply doing things:

The things that you love, the things that you are good at, the things that are for you.

Don’t mind too much where others are; rather, be happy for them and yourself for doing what you are doing. Be mindful that everyone goes through their own struggles and everyone is allowed to experience their own happiness in their life. We are all simply doing.

On track…not on track… noodles… don’t noodles… (I’ll stop doing that sometime, I promise…maybe)
